Happy birthday chimpanzees Midge and Lulu! Lulu was retired to Black Beauty Ranch along with her best friend, Midge, in 1997 after being used in Hepatitis B vaccine trials and on live virus studies. Everyone at Black Beauty Ranch had a blast celebrating in both May and June to ring in Lulu's 53rd birthday and Midge's 42nd.
Our protest last week at MetLife's headquarters generated noise complaints from
many people who work in the area, a sign that we - and the 66 abandoned chimps
for whom we are fighting - are being heard. We won't stop advocating for the
these former research chimps until the New York Blood Center (NYBC) restores
promised funding for their care.
As NYBC’s largest corporate donor, MetLife, which prides itself on being a socially responsible corporation, cannot stand by silently. Join us at noon on Wednesday, August 10th at MetLife Headquarters to demand action!
